St. Pölten is the capital of Austria’s Niederösterreich province in the heart of Europe. St. Pölten has the oldest documented city charter in Austria – also one of the oldest in all of Europe –, granted in 1159 by Bishop Konrad of Passau, the then-governor of the city.

Since it has been elevated to capital status in 1986, St. Pölten has flourished in all areas of life and has set accents that have been noted throughout Europe. The city with a population of 50,000 has much to offer.
